The Studio

Where the work continues between sessions.

The Studio is your private rehearsal space. After every live session I set what you practise there, guided by your Communication Signature, and we review the results in the next session.

What it is — and what it isn't

It is

  • A private space to rehearse meetings, presentations, interviews and difficult conversations like the ones on your calendar.
  • Directed by me: your Studio task is set after each session.
  • Assessed across the six dimensions.
  • Connected to your live coaching.

It isn't

  • A course.
  • A language app.
  • A library of generic exercises.
  • A replacement for coaching.

The technology carries the practice. The judgement, feedback and direction stay with me.

How The Studio works

Live coaching sets the direction. The Studio carries the work between sessions.

The coaching does not stop when the video call ends. The Studio, your private rehearsal space, is where you turn insight into behaviour — with a clear loop from session to session.

01

We agree the focus in your live session

Every coaching session ends with a clear target: a specific behaviour, situation or dimension to practise before we meet again.

02

I set your Studio task

Based on your Communication Signature and that week's goal, I choose the scenarios you rehearse and the phrasing to work on, recorded in your workbook and session summary.

03

You practise realistic situations during the week

You rehearse conversations, meetings, presentations and difficult exchanges in a private, interactive environment — whenever your schedule allows.

04

You get structured feedback

Each rehearsal generates clear observations tied to the six dimensions: what landed, what to adjust, and the exact language to try next.

05

We review and advance in the next session

We look at what changed, correct any drift, and set the next focus. The live session and The Studio keep feeding each other.

What changes week to week

The Studio is not a fixed course. It evolves as you do, so every practice session is relevant to where you are now.

The focus shifts as you improve
A dimension that was limiting you becomes stable; we move the attention to the next most valuable change.
Scenarios chosen for what is coming up
Board updates, client calls, promotions, difficult conversations — I choose the scenarios closest to what is actually on your calendar.
Pressure practice for the harder moments
A separate set of scenarios for the challenge in the meeting, the difficult update and the pushback from a senior stakeholder.
Your language toolkit expands
Coaching notes suggest phrases from each rehearsal, and you keep what is worth keeping in your phrasebook.

What's inside

What you will find when you sign in.

Rehearsal scenarios

Realistic professional situations, each with its context, objectives and the people in the room, and the dimensions it is designed to exercise.

A realistic counterpart

Speak or type your replies; the other side of the conversation responds in role, so the exchange develops as it would at work.

Coaching notes after each rehearsal

A short summary, then observations by dimension: what worked, what to change, and the line from your own reply it refers to.

Useful phrases

A handful of ready-to-use phrases that would have strengthened that particular conversation, each with a note on when to use it.

Executive rewrite

Paste your own wording and see it in a senior executive register, without your meaning being changed.

Phrasebook and vocabulary

Keep the wording worth keeping — from rehearsals, from our sessions or from your own reading — and the terms you want to own.

Pressure practice

A set of scenarios for the harder moments — the challenge in the meeting, the difficult update, the pushback from a senior stakeholder.

Your Communication Signature

Your assessment report across the six dimensions, with your strengths, your development priorities and quotations from your own responses.

Development and progress

What matters now, what to practise, and movement over time — built only from the evidence recorded for you.

The six dimensions

Every rehearsal produces observations tied to these dimensions — what landed, what to adjust, and the exact language to try next.

Clarity
Can people follow your thinking the first time?
Credibility
Does your communication carry the weight of your expertise?
Integrity
Do you communicate your position honestly, precisely and without unnecessary overstatement?
Composure
Can you maintain authority when challenged, interrupted or put under pressure?
Influence
Can your communication move a decision, recommendation or stakeholder?
Adaptability
Can you adjust your communication to different people and situations without losing your own voice?

Your workbook

Everything we build, in one place

Every client has a private workbook, built from the diagnostic and updated after every session. It is the record of what we are working on and why, and it is yours to keep.

Diagnostic profile
Your goals, the situations where it matters most, your baseline on the six dimensions, and what is actually causing the difficulty.
Direction
The three priorities we are working on, why those come first, and when we expect to see them change.
Your structures
Frameworks for your real situations, each with a worked example from your own work.
Language bank
What you said, the stronger version, and why it lands better, organised by function.
Recurring patterns
The habits that keep appearing, tracked until they hold under pressure, not just in practice.
Session and rehearsal log
What we worked on, what improved, and what you practise next, including your Studio rehearsals.
High-stakes events
Preparation for the meeting, interview or presentation ahead, and a debrief afterwards.
Progress reviews
Every six to eight weeks, measured against the same six dimensions.

Personal and confidential. Visible only to you and Darcy.

Questions

About The Studio.

Usually two or three short rehearsals of 10 to 20 minutes, fitted around your week. There is no clock in The Studio — take the time you need.

Partly. AI plays the counterpart in each rehearsal and drafts your coaching notes by dimension, working from the scenario, what you said, and — when you speak — how you said it: pace, pauses, pitch and volume. Your accent is never assessed. The direction is mine: I set your Studio task, and we review the results together in your next session.

Spoken or written rehearsal. The Studio does not record or store audio. In spoken rehearsals, your browser's built-in speech-to-text turns what you say into text, and delivery (pace, pauses, pitch and volume) is measured in your browser; only the text and those numbers reach us. Some browsers, including Chrome, use their own online speech service to do this. We keep the text of your rehearsals for 12 months, then delete it. Your scores and delivery measurements stay with your account as your progress record until you delete the account. If you prefer, type your replies instead. Your replies and coaching notes are stored securely with your account. Only you and I can see them — no other client, and no one at your organisation.

Not at present. It is designed to work alongside live sessions.
